Kevin and Jenn's Wedding

The wedding will be here before you know it.

For you disorganized relatives, they have set up a website with all of the pertinent info.

I have some questions for y'all.

1) What are everybody's itineraries? When is everyone coming in and when are they leaving?

2) I heard that the Whites are coming and staying at the Cape for a week? Can this be confirmed? If so, which week - precededing or following?

3) I had the idea of renting a catamaran in Newport. Is there any interest in this? Sunday would seem like the best time, but Friday is a possibility as well.

4) Does anyone else have any ideas? A barbeque in Newton at my new place? Golf?

5) Is Maureen bringing all three of her boys (Colin, Brendan, and Tom)? And if not, can we get the petition started on Colin and Brendan at least?

As for me, Inez, and little john, we will be moving to Newton for August 1st and hope to be all settled in by the wedding. I can't wait until Kevin and Jenn are married - it will be so convenient to have an old married couple nearby that can babysit john in a pinch or weekly (Friday nights?).

timl,

you know that the cape house is "rented" out. so your suggestion amounts to a self-invitation. no?

louise,

the house does have plenty of space and i have one warning if you succumb to tim's self-invitation -- you just lost some serious bathroom availability.

as distant cousins you may not be privy to this idiosyncratic part of tim, but tim is an unmitigated fop. he routinely spends around 1.5 hours in the bathroom primping his hair, on organic bio-maple facial cleansers, eye lash plucking, etc.

while the other guests at your wedding shared the entire hotel room (some a bit more, i.e. mark), tim would not share the bathroom with me at all. next trip/wedding i will be rooming with a random single over tim.

this is a totally serious post.

tim,

the cape is a little impractical because it is so damn far away. especially for doing anything on sunday or friday for that matter.

the cape is 2 hrs from newton.

you would need a rental car to go. and the commi's in boston have a 25% tax on rental cars. inez and i paid almost $400 for a 5 day rental up there.

i was looking into renting an entire catamaran, but that would be impractical for a few reasons.

one, people would have to commit to it and someone would have to put down a deposit (me?).

also, what if it rained and we wanted to cancel.

but i found a couple of places that run daily and on a schedule at around $35 a head for 3 hours i think. i didn't really do too much research.

i am not wedded to this idea. i opt for doing whatever the most people can partake in. newport can be just as inconvenient as the cape for some.

the cape house is in Harwich so.

on yahoo.

harwich to fall river 71 miles, 1.5 hrs for the ceremony.

but then the reception is another 29 miles. i am not sure what the best way is to go there from fall river (looks like 2 ways).

for you cape people, it is over 2 hrs to get back from reception and i can't imagine anyone doing that.

All Whites (past, present and husbands)are vacating Mullins By The Sea on the day of the wedding and checking in at the Holiday Inn, Katie is working out driving options for us. We leave Sunday.

Hey guys. Tom and I are probably coming in late Thursday leaving Sunday. We're staying at the Crowne Plaza (yes, we don't always stay at the cheaper places).

As far as the Cape house, Tim can probably use the outdoor shower. I doubt they'll be a line waiting for that.
